'Unforgivable what he has done' Vine slams Harry as he insists William snub justified

Jeremy Vine expressed his frustration over the behaviour of Prince Harry as he criticised the Duke of Sussex for openly discussing his grievances with the Royal Family. The Duke has shared a frosty relationship with the family since he and Meghan Markle chose to step down as working royals two and a half years ago. Mr Vine said the repeated attacks on the Royal Family were “unforgivable” as he suggested his conduct would be hard to forgive for Prince William.

The Jeremy Vine on 5 host said: “I think what Harry’s done is unforgivable.

“You’re transmitting all this private stuff about your own family.

“Unforgivable for his brother.”

The Duke of Sussex discussed his decision to step down in a series of interviews over the past two years, repeatedly putting in question the support he and the Duchess of Sussex received when struggling with the pressure of public life.

He also suggested he felt “trapped” by the institution, suggesting Prince Charles and Prince William felt the same but had been unable to break free.

Speaking to Oprah Winfrey in 2021, the Duke of Sussex said: “I was trapped, but I didn’t know I was trapped.

“My father and my brother, they are trapped. They don’t get to leave. And I have huge compassion for that.”

Prince Harry returned to the UK this week to attend a series of events in Manchester and London alongside Meghan Markle.

“Charles has got work commitments. The Queen, of course, is in Balmoral.

“I think the thing is that there is a lot of trust lost between William and Harry, and I do think they are probably not going to have that meeting again until after that book is released, which we know is coming in November from Harry, because we are hearing it is not going to be so good for the royals.

“And, of course, we have got their documentary that is coming out on Netflix in December. So, I just think a wide-berth despite the fact they are half a mile down the road and you would think they would give them a bit of a visit.”

Prince Harry is expected to release his first memoir later this year after the publication date was pushed to avoid a clash with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
