On Tuesday, Durant agreed to rescind his trade request that he made earlier in the summer in an effort to remove head coach Steve Nash and general manager Sean Marks from their positions.

Barkley has not been the only NBA personality to criticize Durant in wake of the news that he will stay in Brooklyn after, changing his mind following his request to be traded.

‘He seems like a miserable person, man. I call him Mr. Miserable, he’s never going to be happy. Everybody’s given him everything on a silver platter,’ Barkley said while appearing on the Bickley & Marotta radio program on Arizona Sports.

‘He was the man in Oklahoma City, they loved him, he owned the entire state.

‘He bolts on them and wins back-to-back championships (with Golden State), and he’s still not happy. Then he goes to Brooklyn, they give him everything he wants and he’s still miserable.’

Miserable or not, Durant averaged 29.9 points, 7.4 rebounds and a career-high 6.4 assists per game last season.

Barkley would also question Durant’s leadership during the appearance, while also saying that he and other NBA old timers feel Durant ‘piggybacked’ his way to two championships in Golden State.

‘All the old guys, he get mad we say it, (but) he piggybacked on the Warriors to win his first two championships. But if you go back and look at his career, as the best player and being the leader that all goes with that, he’s been an abject failure,’ he said.

During his time in Oklahoma City and Brooklyn, where he respectively was and currently is slotted as the best player, Durant has only made it as far as the Conference Finals.
