Andrea Bocelli's son Matteo Bocelli launches single for movie debut with Idris Elba LISTEN

Andrea Bocelli’s son Matteo Bocelli has been following in his father’s footsteps over the last few years, showing that talent for singing really does run in the family. The 24-year-old made his professional debut with the acclaimed Italian tenor back in 2018 with their touching duet Fall On Me.

When Express.co.uk previously asked Andrea about his son’s singing, he replied: “I believe that Matteo is identifying with more and more clarity his own style, according to his own personality and sensibilities. And I believe that his very promising single Solo shows that. As for duets, it is true that the song Fall On Me was a beautiful occasion that we have seized upon as a family, perhaps without truly thinking it through but with great enthusiasm. And the public appreciated the genuineness of the emotions involved. But I also think that my son has, today, wings strong enough to take flight by himself.”

Fall On Me even ended up on the soundtrack for Disney movie The Nutcracker and The Four Realms.

Since then, Matteo has toured with Andrea and has been releasing singles like Solo, Close and Tempo ahead of his debut solo album in 2023.

If that wasn’t enough, the rising star has today put out his latest song Cautionary Tale, which will feature on the soundtrack of Mad Max director George Miller’s latest movie, Three Thousand Years of Longing.

There are two versions of the sultry and smooth track he made with Junkie XL, including one in English, which can be listened to on streaming platforms – see the link at the bottom of the article.

Three Thousand Years Of Longing is a dark fantasy movie based on the short story The Djinn in the Nightingale’s Eye by AS Byatt.

The synopsis reads: “A scholar, content with life, encounters a Djinn who offers her three wishes in exchange for his freedom. Their conversation, in a hotel room in Istanbul, leads to consequences neither would have expected.”

Matteo’s role as Mustapha is based on a real-life Ottoman prince called Mustafa, who was the son of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent.

He was immensely popular and heir apparent until his father ordered his execution in 1553 at the age of just 38 after a statesman persuaded him that Mustafa was coming to kill him.
