Today (April 18) marks A-Level results day for swathes of students across the country. And among those eagerly awaiting their results is Lady Louise Windsor, the Queen’s youngest granddaughter and the elder child of Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex.
Lady Louise is enrolled at a private school in Ascot, and this year marks her last in further education.
What subjects Louise took to A-Level, and the grades she is hoping to achieve, are not public knowledge.
But Louise reportedly took AS Levels last year in English, History, Politics and Drama.
While the royal hasn’t made clear what her next steps are, her mother Sophie has spoken of her hope for her “clever” daughter to go to university.

The Countess told The Sunday Times in 2020: “She’s working hard and will do A-Levels.
“I hope she goes to university. I wouldn’t force her, but if she wants to. She’s quite clever.”
If Louise wants to go to university, she may choose to take a gap year before commencing her studies as other royals have.
Prince William spent time in Chile working on community projects, while Kate spent her gap year sailing and visiting Florence.
Whatever path Louise chooses, it is unlikely she will pursue a full-time royal career after she receives her A-Level results.
Louise and her brother James, Viscount Severn, keep out of the royal spotlight for the most part and are expected to pursue their own careers in the future like Beatrice and Eugenie.
The pair are also without HRH or Prince and Princess titles, a decision which was thought to have been made by the Queen and the Wessexes to allow them normal lives.
Louise tends to only make public appearances with the Queen at royal events or at carriage driving competitions.
