Juan Soto hit his first home run in a San Diego Padres uniform in Tuesday’s game against the San Francisco Giants. 

Soto was traded to San Diego from the Washington Nationals at the trade deadline when the team also traded for slugger Josh Bell from Washington.

Before the trade Soto had turned down 15-year $440 million contract extension to remain in Washington

Heading into Tuesday’s game Soto has recorded six hits in 20 at bats and scored three runs, since being traded to the Padres. 

Along with the home run Soto also recorded a double on the night, his second since taking up his new home in San Diego.

Josh Bell, who the Padres also traded for at the deadline from the Nationals went 2-4 on the night recording an RBI single and a double in the contest.

Unlike Soto, Bell is still awaiting his first home run with his new team.
