Russian forces are pushing ahead with their offensive operation in the Bakhmut and Avdiyivka directions, trying to create favorable conditions for taking over the settlements of Soledar and Bakhmut, to expand seized ground on the western outskirts of Donetsk.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the movements in an intelligence update posted to Facebook.
Meanwhile, in the Volyn and Polissia directions, the Belarus armed forces keep strengthening the section of the Belarusian-Ukrainian border in Brest and Gomel regions.
A combat readiness check-up was held for parts of their special operations forces, the General Staff claimed.
In the direction of Bakhmut, Russian troops shelled military and civilian infrastructure near Yakovlivka, Kodema, Pokrovske, Rozdolivka, Vershyna, Bakhmut, and Soledar.
The offensive and assault efforts were unsuccessful in improving their tactical position.
In the Avdiyivka direction, Russian forces fired artillery and tanks near Pisky, Prechistivka, Shevchenko, Volodymyrivka, Novobakhmutivka, Nevelske, Netaylove, and Krasnohorivka.
