Described as a “stylish” apartment and a “cosy retreat”, the Duchess of Cambridge lived with her younger sister Pippa in Chelsea, west London, before moving to Anglesey, North Wales, with Prince William in 2010. Shortly after, Kate and William wed.
Kate’s first home in London was with her sister, in a stylish part of the city not far from Chelsea’s buzzing King’s Road.
The Duchess lived with her sister, Pippa, in an apartment located on Old Church Street.
The sisters’ parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, bought the property for a whopping £780,000 in 2002, before selling it for an even bigger £1.88million in September 2019.
The apartment is rather large, featuring three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large living room, a dining room, and a kitchen.

The bedrooms are spacious with large windows, double beds, and big, white wardrobes.
Express.co.uk spoke to two interior experts to give more insight into the Middletons’ home’s style.
Each room featured “elegant and classic décor” which completely matched the sisters’ personality, according to Juliette Thomas, director of luxury interiors at her own company, Juliette’s Interiors.
TV Celebrity Interior Designer Steph Briggs agreed. She said the flat’s style is “just like Kate”.

Steph continued: “It’s a classic high end sitting room design – nothing too outlandish or outrageous. Calming and stylish – just like Kate.
“It’s quite a safe design choice but is very homely.
“The soft cream wall and oatmeal carpets with well thought out lighting scheme give it a feeling of cosiness and calm.
“The red wine chenille sofa and handmade Moroccan rug give it character and a touch of the exotic.”
She said: “Not typical of modern London apartments, the décor nods to their rural upbringing.
“Having been brought up in the charming village of Bucklebury, many of the items used to furnish the interior may well have been passed down from the family home.”
Kate left Chelsea in 2010 to go and live on Anglesey with William as he had been stationed there with the Royal Air Force (RAF).
After Prince George was born, the family briefly returned to Anglesey before moving into Kensington Palace.
Comparing the royal property with Kate and Pippa’s former flat, Juliette said: “Although the interior is classic and homely, the interior of Kensington Palace is much more regal than the flat.
“Adorned with neutral and a regal pop of red on the floor, the apartment has an upmarket feel, but one isn’t as formal as the interior of Kensington Palace.
“We suspect that the similarity is down to similar classic country taste, rather than a deliberate attempt to recreate Kensington Palace in one’s living room.”
