Ricky Martin performs at The Hollywood Bowl…after winning court battle against nephew

Ricky Martin gave a celebratory performance alongside the L.A. Philharmonic Orchestra Friday night at the Hollywood Bowl.

The Puerto Rican singer, 50, made his first public appearance after his recent victory in court against his 21-year-old nephew, who had accused the performer of having a sexual relationship with him and of stalking.

Ricky took the stage asking the crowd, ‘Are you really having a good time? All I want is for you to forget all your issues tonight and just focus on love and light and let’s just have a good time. Are you ready Los Angeles to have a good time?’

However, he did not directly address the accusations or Thursday’s court hearing, where a judge dismissed the case and the restraining order against the songwriter, after his nephew suddenly dropped the claims.

Ricky is performing a two-night concert event through July 23 and despite recent allegations, a large crowd appeared to support the singer.

The case came to light on July 1, when a judge granted a restraining order against the Livin’ La Vida Loca hitmaker.

The Grammy award-winner denied all claims against him, with his lawyers explaining that his nephew suffers from mental problems, according to TMZ.

After his nephew withdrew his claims, the singer’s legal team informed the entertainment tabloid in a statement, ‘Just as we had anticipated, the temporary protection order was not extended by the court.’

‘The accuser confirmed to the court that his decision to dismiss the matter was his alone, without any outside influence or pressure,’ the statement continued.

When the claims were dropped and the case was dismissed by the judge, Ricky sat down in a video obtained by TMZ with the chance to finally speak.

‘For two weeks I was not allowed to defend myself because I was following a procedure where the law obligated me not to talk until I was in front of the judge,’ he explained.

‘It has been so painful,’ Ricky stated. ‘It has been devastating for me, for my family, for my friends.’

He then aimed his words to his ‘accuser,’ and expressed, ‘I wish him the best and I wish he finds the help so he can start a new life filled with love and truth and joy, and he doesn’t hurt anybody else.’

According to People, the star’s legal team also released a statement to the publication, saying, ‘This was never anything more than a troubled individual making false allegations with absolutely nothing to substantiate them.’

‘We are glad that our client saw justice done and can now move forward with his life and his career.’

Ricky’s husband, Jwan Yosef, also took the time to speak out once the case was dropped.

The painter uploaded a post on his main Instagram page, sharing an older selfie of the singer and himself.

He added a sweet and short caption, expressing his excitement that Ricky was freed from false claims. ‘Truth prevails,’ he typed, and added a red heart emoji at the end.
