Jillian Michaels is a married woman!
The former “Biggest Loser” trainer and DeShanna Marie Minuto said “I do” during a private ceremony in Namibia, People reports.
The fitness instructor, 48, announced the big news on her Instagram, saying it was “an honor” and “adventure” saying “I do” to Minuto, 37, in the intimate ceremony led by the Himba people.
“Finding you… my person… and eloping in Africa together has been one of the most magical and transformative chapters of my life,” Michaels said alongside photos of their big day.
She continued, “A special thank you to Susan Neva at Alluring Africa, the team at Wilderness Safari, and the Himba people for helping us commemorate our union in style,” adding, “We will treasure these experiences for the rest of our lives.”
Before flying to Africa, the newlyweds got legally married at a Miami courthouse on July 11.
Although the pair are already officially married, Michaels says they’re planning “an official wedding celebration” in June 2023 in Venice, Italy to celebrate their nuptials with friends and family.
The reality star popped the question to Minuto in November 2021 with a 7-carat emerald-cut diamond.
At the time of their engagement, Michaels gushed about her now-wife saying she checked all the boxes.
“DeShanna is ‘all the things’ — beautiful, smart, funny, creative, quirky, passionate … I could run down the list of adjectives,” she told People. “Those characteristics obviously attract you to someone. But it’s the quality of their character that makes you think, ‘Thank God for this person laying next to me’ every night when you fall asleep.”
The pair first started dating in 2018, shortly after the “Slim for Life” author ended her previous engagement to Heidi Rhoades after nearly a decade together.
Michaels and Rhoades share two children: daughter Lukensia, 11, and 9-year-old son Phoenix.
