When Does Episode 2 of Derek Jeter’s Documentary ‘The Captain’ Air on ESPN?

Hall of Famer Derek Jeter receives The Last Dance treatment in ESPN’s riveting new docuseries The Captain. Directed by Randy Wilkins, the new documentary is an expansive exploration at the life and career of the famed Yankees shortstop. Premiering July 18 on ESPN, the first episode of The Captain centers on Jeter’s upbringing and features never-before-seen footage of the future five-time World Series champion getting drafted by the Yankees.

“We set out on a journey to discover the man behind the iconic Yankees number 2 jersey,” Wilkins said in a statement. “The series gives insight into a hall of fame baseball career, but more importantly, we reveal a person who sits at multiple intersections of American culture. The Captain is a story about race, media, celebrity culture, and the insatiable drive to be the best version of yourself.”
