Trainer Billy Nelson, said: ‘There is something very big in the pipeline for him. I can’t say anything at present but next week it will probably get announced.’

Talking about a potential fight with Fury, Nelson said: ‘It would be a six to eight round exhibition contest, won’t it? What an experience for him [Bjornsson] and great for both their profiles.

‘It’s an exhibition, so no one is getting knocked out you wouldn’t think. You would hope not anyway, but you never know.’

Nelson’s comments come after Bjornsson told a press call on Friday that there has been ‘back and forth’ between him and Fury.

He said: ‘Yes, there’s been talks, yes it’s been back and forth between me and Tyson Fury.

‘He mentioned he wanted to come here to Iceland, we’ll see. I can’t go into details, but if things work out, I would gladly dance with Tyson and I would gladly and be honoured to share the ring with him.’

The pair have recently been involved in a war of words on social media which has heightened speculation of a potential fight.

On his Instagram page last month, the ‘Gypsy King’ wrote: ‘I wonder if Thor Bjornsson could take a crashing right hand to that big jaw?

‘Who would have Thor’s hammer? Would this mountain be to [sic] big to climb?’

‘Mountain’ is the character played by the behemoth in Game of Thrones. Bjornsson is the only man to win the Arnold Strongman Classic, Europe’s Strongest Man and World’s Strongest Man in the same year.

He is the third most decorated strongman in history and has 30 competition wins to his name.

And the man nicknamed Thor hit back at the Gypsy King’s taunts, revealing he would be up for settling their differences in the ring.

He said on Instagram: ‘Tyson, there’s only one way to find out [if Thor could take Fury’s punches]. Let’s make this fight.

‘I’m 100% up for war. Let’s do this.’

Bjornsson fought against Brit Eddie Hall in March after three warm-up exhibition contests.
