A pitch invader has stunned AFL fans at Thursday night’s Dogs vs Lions game by walking onto the Gabba in the same kit as the on-field security team before leading them on a long chase across the famous ground.

The Lions ran away to a dominant 108-67 win, but it was the pitch invader’s cheek that got the home fans up on their feet cheering at quarter-time.

The assetpro company was providing security at the ground and the invader was decked out in tracksuit pants with their logo on them, just like the guards on duty.

He also wore the same type of footy boots as the security staff.

Isabel Hoffman, 21, said the crowd started laughing when they realised the supposed guard was actually an intruder.

‘He was wearing a high-vis vest, I couldn’t tell the difference between him and the seccies [security] until he started stripping,’ Hoffman told Daily Mail Australia.

‘From where we were sitting in the crowd, he looked just like every guard.

‘Then we noticed all of these seccies piling out onto the ground at the end of the quarter, and this dude was looking a little suspicious.

‘Then he went for it. He started running around, sold the dummy … no one could get him down for a while, he was fending them off.

‘It was such an awesome larrikin moment, it was almost as fun as watching the Bulldogs get slammed.’

Daily Mail Australia contacted assetpro to see if they knew how the man came to be wearing gear identical to that of their guards, but they declined to speak due to client confidentiality.

Unfortunately the security breach meant the stadium officials called off the kick-to-kick at the end of the game, so fans could not walk onto the ground and enjoy passing the footy.

Hoffman’s father, Andrew, is pictured at the end of the video enjoying the sight of the invader stepping and weaving his way through security.

She said it reminded him of the older days of Aussie Rules, when the crowd would go wild while watching guards chase after a fan.

The video features the invader performing a wild goose step off his right foot while being pursued by six Gabba guards, who eventually tackled the man and brought his antics to an end.
