As the Group of Seven (G7) leaders gathered in Germany for the three-day summit, Vladimir Putin launched a missile strike on a packed shopping center in Kremenchuk, in central Ukraine. Videos posted on social media showed flames engulfing the building, with potentially hundreds of people inside it, according to Ukrainian authorities. In his nightly address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said: “[The strike on the shopping centre] is one of the most defiant terrorist attacks in European history.” The G7 responded to the attack: “We, the Leaders of the G7, solemnly condemn the abominable attack on a shopping mall in Kremenchuk. We stand united with Ukraine in mourning the innocent victims of this brutal attack. Indiscriminate attacks on innocent civilians constitute a war crime. Russian President [Vladimir] Putin and those responsible will be held to account.”
Meanwhile, Piers Morgan said: “Putin deliberately bombed 1000 civilians in a Ukraine supermarket as the G7 met. It’s hard to think of a more brazen display of contempt for the international community.
“As I’ve said from the start of this war, bullies only understand one language. NATO should attack him.”
