CBS will not air the season finale of FBI on Tuesday following the mass shooting at a Uvalde, Texas elementary school in which authorities said 18 children and three adults were murdered.
The network decided to pull the show, titled Prodigal Son, which has a storyline centered around authorities looking to stop a mass shooting, Deadline reported on Tuesday.
‘As the team investigates a deadly robbery that garnered a cache of automatic weapons for the killers, they discover one of the perps is a classmate of Jubal’s son, who is reluctant to cooperate with the case,’ read a synopsis for the episode, which was written by showrunner Rick Eid and directed by Alex Chapple.

CBS will re-run an FBI episode that originally aired in February in the place of the season finale; the network will continue to air the season finales of the shows FBI: Most Wanted or FBI: International.
The series FBI is focused on a team of FBI agents based in New York who operate on a nationwide basis. The show stars Dylan McDermott, Missy Peregrym, Jeremy Sisto, Zeeko Zaki, Alana De La Garza, John Boyd and Katherine Renee Turner.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said that in Tuesday’s incident, the gunman, identified as Uvalde resident Salvador Ramos, 18, began his rampage in entering Robb Elementary School armed with a handgun and rifle.
A Border Patrol agent who was in the area killed Ramos, a law enforcement official told the AP under condition of anonymity, noting that the agent was injured but able to walk away from the school.

Abbott said that Ramos was likely killed by police, but the string of events were under probe.
Federal authorities said that the death toll was expected to increase, the AP reported.
Just under 600 students are enrolled at Robb Elementary School, according to Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District police chief Pete Arredondo. The semester was about to end for summer break this week.

Tuesday’s massacre marked the deadliest mass shooting at an American grade school in the history of the state, and nationally since the December 14, 2012 mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, in which 20 children and six adults were murdered.
Texas has been the location for multiple mass shootings in recent years, as 26 people were killed in a November 2017 mass shooting at the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs in Sutherland Springs, Texas.
In May of 2018, 10 people were murdered at Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe, Texas. In August of 2019, 23 people were murdered at an El Paso, Texas Walmart in a racially-charged attack.
