Spanish GP qualifying LIVE: Lewis Hamilton set for Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc duel

Mercedes have enjoyed a productive weekend thus far and will be hoping to put their newly-found pace to good use by registering an impressive finish at the end of today’s qualifying session.

The Silver Arrows have made a handful of intriguing alterations to the floor of their W13 challenger over the last two weeks in an attempt to eradicate the porpoising that has plagued their on-track efforts since pre-season testing.

The issue was virtually non-existent on the straights in practice which allowed Mercedes to unlock some much-needed performance in order to put themselves in contention to achieve pole position at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this weekend.

It remains to be seen whether the German outfit will be able to keep up the good work over the coming weeks and months, though, as they look to revitalise their faint hopes of securing a record-breaking ninth successive Constructors’ Championship triumph at the end of the campaign.
