Arsenal's perfect transfer window with four signings as Edu promises 'big summer'

Gabriel Jesus

Manchester City star Jesus emerged as a top target for Arsenal towards the end of last month. The Brazilian wants regular game time and his versatility to play across the frontline could be attractive to Arteta.

Jesus has since started the last four games for City, scoring six goals in the process. But his contract expires in 2023 so if he does not pen an extension, the Etihad club may try to cash in on him this summer.

Arsenal are said to have been in talks with his representatives for several months.

Ruben Neves

Wolves star Neves has been linked with both Arsenal and Manchester United in the last couple of transfer windows. Sky Sports claimed in April that the Portugal international is a top midfield target for the north London side.

Granit Xhaka’s upturn in form in recent months could mean he stays beyond this season. But if Mohamed Elneny leaves when his contract expires, there is a lack of senior back-up behind Xhaka and Thomas Partey.

Neves is better than a back-up option, of course. But having different options to compete on four fronts will be key.
