The cell where accused murderer was being held before he was sprung by prison guard

Exclusive photos obtained by DailyMail.com show the maximum security unit where a convicted murderer was being held before he was sprung by a prison guard last week, as sheriff officials say they have been receiving tips from across the country about their whereabouts.

Casey White, 38, was serving a 75-year sentence for attempted murder, burglary, robbery, kidnapping and animal cruelty at the Lauderdale County Jail in Alabama.

He also faced murder charges after confessing to the fatal stabbing of Connie Ridgeway, 58, when he was released from prison by Deputy Vicky White – with whom he is not related and was apparently in a relationship.

Casey was being held in Cell A1 in the maximum-security section of the Lauderdale County Jail – which is authorized to house 310 inmates at a time and operates three shifts per day with as many as 18 detention officers.

It is unclear whether he had any cellmates.

The A Hall had no bars on cells, instead they were made of cinderblock and steel doors with a small window with reinforced glass on each of the cells.

Exclusive photos from a DailyMail.com tour of the long-term facility show a mobile restraint chair often used by jail employees for unruly prisoners near Casey’s cell, but Director Jason Butler said he wasn’t aware that it had been used on Casey.

In one area of the hall there was a section where there were restraining shackles, leg irons, handcuffs and belly chains readily available for the correctional officers.

Director Butler then showed the path that Casey would have walked out the door to freedom accompanied by Deputy Vicky White.

He would have walked down the hallway from cell A1 past the kitchen, and into the booking room. The first and the last place a prisoner sees when they arrive or depart the jail, which is equipped with more than 30 cameras watching the move of each of the prisoners.

The photos come just hours after officials released new video of the couple’s escape. The footage shows the squad car they were traveling in pass a gas station as Vicky drove Casey to a mental health evaluation appointment, which did not exist.

The pair abandoned the vehicle about a half-mile from the gas station.

Surveillance video taken at the Lauderdale County Jail showed the moment Vicky snuck 6ft 9in ‘monster’ Casey out of the facility before they went on the run with an AR-15 and a shotgun.

They made a break for it on Friday after Vicky told superiors she was going to take Casey for a mental health evaluation on her last day before retirement.

The 56-year-old widow held the door for the 38-year-old thug – who was still wearing handcuffs – before they got into a black car and sped off at 9.30am on Friday.

New video released Wednesday shows Vicky and Casey driving to the Florence Square shopping center where they abandoned the sheriff’s car used during the escape.

The latest footage shows them driving through the intersection of Huntsville Road and Cox Creek Parkway at 9.49am on Friday, WAAY reported. The intersection is about a half-mile from the shopping center.

The cruiser was found abandoned in the center parking lot several hours after the escape.

Meanwhile, it was revealed on Wednesday that the jailer and confessed killer shared an intimate relationship dating back to 2020.

They reportedly shared a ‘special relationship’ at the time, when Casey was first brought to Lauderdale County for his arraignment.

Although Casey was in custody at a state prison ahead of his arraignment and was transferred back to facility immediately after, the pair stayed close, Sheriff Rick Singleton confirmed to DailyMail.com Wednesday.

‘As far as we know that was the earliest physical contact they had,’ Singleton said of the arraignment. He claims Casey and Vicky continued to communicate after the accused murderer was transferred back to the prison.

Vicky visited Casey while he was at the Alabama Department of Corrections (DOC) without the knowledge of Lauderdale County officials.

‘I’m sure DOC didn’t know where she worked or that she was a corrections officer,’ the sheriff added, noting the pair managed to keep their romance very discreet.

But inmates alleged Vicky ensured Casey ‘was getting extra food on his trays’ and ‘was getting privileges no one else got,’ a claim that Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton told CNN has been confirmed by an independent investigation.

The Lauderdale County Sheriff Department is now receiving tips from all over the eastern part of the United States on escaped convict and accused murderer Casey White, 38 and his alleged accomplice Deputy Vicky Smith, Sheriff Rick Singleton exclusively told DailyMail.com.

Sheriff Singleton said, ‘they’ve been receiving tips from as far north and Illinois and Ohio and to the east in Kentucky and Tennessee and as far south as Florida.

‘We have the US Marshall fugitive task force following up on every credible lead we get.’

Singleton believes they are no longer in the copper or orange colored 2007 Ford Edge vehicle with minor damage to the rear left bumper that was identified by US Marshall Service a few days ago.

‘I believe we’ll be finding that vehicle in the coming days and hopefully it may give us some more leads on their whereabouts.’

Singleton also didn’t appear to be too surprised that a correctional officer had a relationship with an inmate.

‘It happens far too often, a correctional officer having a relationship with an inmate, it’s not the first time it’s happened and unfortunately it won’t be the last,’ he said.

As far as former Deputy Vicky Smith, ‘termination is the least of her worries, she has felony warrants out for her, she has some serious charges to face when she gets back here.
