Barring the kind of injury that may well keep Tyler Motte out for the beginning of the playoffs, head coach Gerard Gallant seems to have two key decisions coming regarding the lineup for Game 1 in roughly three weeks.
1. Will it be Patrik Nemeth or Justin Braun on the left side of the third pair with Braden Schneider? Or will the Rangers decide to load up on experience to open the tournament and go with a Nemeth-Braun pair?
2. How — and where — do Kaapo Kakko, Filip Chytil and Barclay Goodrow best fit?
