Tom Schwartz dons wedding ring as he shops in LA … after it’s revealed Katie Maloney listed ‘irreconcilable differences’ as reason for their divorce in court filing

  • Maloney, 35, filed for divorce from Schwartz, 39, in LA on Tuesday
  • She told the court neither she or Schwartz were seeking spousal support
  • She said that they had separated on February 12
  • The former couple revealed they had broken up March 15 via Instagram
  • They had spent 12 years with one another prior to their split
  • While the pair married in 2016, they did not submit the paperwork to make it legally binding until 2019

Tom Schwartz was seen donning his wedding ring on Thursday as he stepped out in Los Angeles to shop in the wake of his split from Katie Maloney earlier this month.

The Woodbury, Minnesota-born reality star, 39, donned a black hooded sweatshirt with patterned shorts, leopardskin sandals and reflective sunglasses as he visited the establishment Sweet Flowers.

The Vanderpump Rules personality was seen out as People reported Thursday that Maloney, 35, said in docs filed in Los Angeles Superior Court Tuesday that the couple’s parting was the result of ‘irreconcilable differences.’

In court docs, Maloney said neither she or Schwartz were seeking spousal support, and that they are in the process of figuring out how to divide their belongings and property.

In her divorce petition, Maloney said that the pair had separated on February 12, which is around a month before both took to social media March 15 to reveal they had decided to break up.

Schwartz wrote at the time: ‘Well this sucks. How am I supposed to capture 12 years of love in a f***** canned Instagram caption … Katie & I are separating.’

He added: ‘I’m not quite ready to use the ‘D’ word bc it’s too painful. Yes my heart aches but I’ll be ok … fully respect Katie’s decision and we’ve had healthy, productive conversations about it. It would be far sadder if she decided to stay with me whilst not happy.’

Schwartz said he and Maloney had shared ‘some of the most blissful, romantic, fun times humanly possible over the course of [their] relationship,’ and that she had ‘taught [him] so much about love & being a better partner.’

Maloney said on her page that she ‘never thought’ she ‘would have to make an announcement like this,’ but felt it was important she remained open about her life.

‘After 12 years on an adventure through life together Tom and I are ending our marriage,’ she said. ‘This ending is not met with resentment or animosity, no sides to choose.

‘We have deep admiration for one another that will always remain and we cherish our friendship. Although we may be on different paths we will continue to love and support one another’s happiness. Thank you for all the kind words and support.’

The former couple had spent 12 years with one another prior to breaking up. While they wed in 2016, they did not submit the paperwork to make it legally binding until 2019.

The parting seems to be an amicable one, as they were seen sharing a meal at the Studio City, California restaurant Mister O’s Saturday.

Maloney was asked by a photographer at The Grove shopping center in Los Angeles on Wednesday if there was any chance of a reconciliation, to which she said, ‘I don’t think so,’ E! News reported Thursday.

She said that their split had been ‘peaceful’ and ‘loving,’ and that she ‘could not have asked for a better situation’ under the circumstances.

Maloney said that cheating was not a factor in the split, as they ‘just grew apart’ from one another: ‘We have a great friendship but things just happen sometimes, unfortunately.’
