Bin Bin Sake Brings a Large Selection to Greenpoint

Since 2007, when Sakaya opened in the East Village, followed much more recently by Kuraichi in Industry City in Brooklyn, the city has made do with only a few sake boutiques. They now has some competition. Bin Bin Sake from Sunday Hospitality and the sake sensei George Padilla stocks sakes from Japanese and local producers, along with Japanese whiskies, shōchūs and some Japanese wines. It occupies a small corner of the space in an industrial building that’s also home to the company’s 100-seat Japanese restaurant, Rule of Thirds. Tastings, classes and subscriptions are planned. When the weather is bearable, there will be a patio for imbibing purchases (with a corkage fee).
