Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa announce HGTV series Flip Or Flop is ending after 10 seasons

Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa announced Thursday that the current season of their HGTV series Flip Or Flop would be its last.

Christina, 38, and Tarek, 40, shared the somber news in dueling Instagram posts ahead of the finale of the tenth season.

The divorce costars revealed the end of their on-screen collaboration nearly eight months after they were reported to have had a brutal argument on set during which Tarek reportedly called his ex a ‘washed-up loser.’

Christina marked the news by sharing a photo of herself beaming ear-to-ear as she stood arm-in-arm with the crew of Flip Or Flop, including her ex.

‘Bittersweet news to announce, it’s the end of an era. Next week’s episode of Flip or Flop will be the SERIES finale,’ she wrote. ‘I’m filled with gratitude to have done 10 seasons of a hit show. I remember filming the pilot and thinking, “wouldn’t this be crazy if is this actually made it to network tv?” And here we are, a decade later.’

She included thanks ‘from the bottom of my heart’ to her fans and viewers over the years, as well as to the ‘amazing crew who worked so hard to make this show possible.’

‘It’s been a wild ride to say the least!!’ she continued. ‘I’m excited to see what the next 10 years has in store and can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on behind the scenes.’

In contrast to his ex’s teamwork-themed post, Tarek simply posted a solo shot of himself as he held a sledgehammer inside of a kitchen he was renovating.

‘New Flip or Flop episode airs tonight! And with just two episodes left, the end of this season is a bit more bittersweet… after an incredible 10 year run, Flip or Flop is coming to an end. This show would not have been possible without all of you following along, so THANK YOU!’ he wrote.

‘You guys have been with us through it all — you watched me beat cancer, you’ve watched the babies grow up into the most amazing little humans, and everything in between [praying hands emoji] but I’m not going anywhere and I can promise that you are going to love what comes next!’ he continued.

The TV star said he and Christina had ‘definitely saved the best for last!’

While speaking to People, the real estate investor said that she would be ‘forever grateful to have had a series for a decade.’

‘It’s a huge accomplishment and everyone who worked on the show should be very proud.’

‘The series made it through ups and downs and trust me it wasn’t always easy,’ she said, alluding to her divorce from Tarek and ongoing tensions between the two.

Although she was positive about the future, Christina also indicated she had been living with plenty of ‘stress’ while continuing to host Flip Or Flop.

‘I’m looking forward to my next chapter and working in positive, fun and creative environments. I’m ready to let go of the stress and enjoy life and all it has to offer,’ she said.

‘Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack are long-time, fan-favorite stars on HGTV and it’s true that Flip Or Flop is coming to an end after an epic 10-season run as a top-rated unscripted series,’ HGTV shared in a statement.

‘More than 90 million viewers have watched the popular series since its premiere in 2013,’ it continued. ‘We look forward to seeing more of Tarek and Christina’s real life, real estate and renovation adventures in upcoming episodes of their solo series Flipping 101 with Tarek El Moussa and Christina on the Coast.’

Haack’s series has been on TV since 2019, while Tarek premiered his solo series last year.

Tarek and Christina married in 2009, prior to starting the real estate investment business.

They had begun flipping homes around that time, following the 2008 housing crash, and they got their reality series off the ground in 2013.

The couple’s marriage came to an end following a dramatic 2016 incident in which a distressed Tarek took a handgun from their home’s safe, jumped over the backyard fence and ran away down a hiking trail.

Police were called and intercepted him safely, and the couple later said in a statement that there had been ‘no violence’ and that ‘no charges were filed.’

They separated shortly afterward and filed for divorce in 2017, before it was finalized in 2018.

Although they managed to continue hosting Flip Or Flop, a conflict between the couple spilled out in public in July 2021, when they were observed getting into a heated argument on set.

At the time, sources told TMZ that Tarek was angered after Christina tried to tell him and some crew members on set that it was time to resume filming.

That set him off, and he allegedly shouted that he ‘made’ his ex-wife and called her a ‘washed-up loser.’

He also brought his then-girlfriend Heather Rae Young into the argument by insulting Christina and reportedly saying his future wife was wealthier and more attractive than her.

Sources close to Tarek later said that he was upset with Christina before the outburst after she revealed that she had smoked hallucinogenic toad venom with her then-boyfriend and current fiancé Joshua Hall.

The exes share two children — daughter Taylor, 11, and son Brayden, six — from their marriage.

After their split, Christina was in a relationship with English TV presenter Ant Anstead. The couple married in 2018 and welcomed a son, Hudson, in 2019, but they announced their separation just over a year later in September 2020.

She was revealed to be dating Joshua Hall in July of last year, and the lovebirds got engaged in September.

Tarek has been dating Heather since 2019, and the couple walked down the aisle in October 2019.
