Australia wicketkeeper Alex Carey made a splash in Pakistan but not in the way he would have hoped, as he seemingly fell into the pool at the team hotel in Karachi.
Footage posted on Instagram by Australia’s Test captain Pat Cummins shows Carey slipping and toppling into the pool, much to delight of his teammates.
To make matters worse for the 30-year-old, his backpack was open when he fell into the water and contained his phone.

Even more embarrassingly, as he eventually emerged from the pool, Carey realised Cummins had caught the incident on camera.
He then swiftly shared the incident on social media, leaving current and former Australia players in hysterics.
‘Phone can last 29 mins in the water Kez … you’re sweet,’ Carey’s teammate Glenn Maxwell commented.
Former Aussie quick Brett Lee, meanwhile, joked Carey’s phone ‘will be ringing wet’.

The unfortunate blooper comes at the end of a difficult few days for Carey, who became the first Australian wicket-keeper to fail to take a catch or a stumping in a Test in 13 years in the opening Test of the series against Pakistan in Rawalpindi.
The last gloveman to achieve the unwanted feat while wearing the Baggy Green was Brad Haddin against South Africa in January 2009.
Carey, who made his Test debut for Australia in December last year, dropped Pakistan wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan on 0 off the bowling of Nathan Lyon’s in the first innings.

Australia’s first Test in Pakistan ended in a tame draw on a benign pitch, with the hosts ending day five on 252 for 0 with openers Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq both hitting tons.
Pakistan had declared on 474 for four in the first innings, with Australia responding with 459 all out.
The second Test in Karachi gets underway on March 12.
