RUSSIA-UKRAINE LIVE: Boris Johnson issues six-point plan – all the latest breaking news and updates

UKRAINE LATEST: More than 1.5 million refugees flee Ukraine, UK could increase defence budget, second bid to evacuate Mariupol as more Western companies pull out of Russia over war

Boris Johnson has drawn up a six-point plan to defeat Vladimir Putin as he moves to assume leadership of global efforts to end the horror of war in Ukraine.

There is a second attempt to evacuate Mariupol today as another ceasefire is announced and 400,000 civilians hope to safely flee.

The Russian President faced an unprecedented wave of international fury yesterday for offering safe passage to Ukrainian refugees – only to bombard them with artillery as they fled.

A Ukrainian peace negotiator is reported to have been shot dead amid claims he might have been a spy for the Russians. The reports are unconfirmed.
