Popular six-a-side tournament Masters Football is making a return after an 11-year hiatus this summer.
The iconic tournament, which is for players over the age of 35, gained popularity through television broadcasts and is back with a host of Premier League legends filling out a star-studded line up at the Braehead arena in Glasgow on July 8.
Former Manchester United title winners Paul Scholes and Wes Brown will join Liverpool icon Steve McManaman and many others who made their name in the city of Glasgow with Old Firm rivals Celtic and Rangers.
Masters Football, the six-a-side tournament for ex-pros, is making a return after 11-year break
It was on Sky from 2001 to 2011 but will now be shown on streaming platform 360 Sports TV
Sky Sports broadcast the event between 2000 and 2011 and football stars of yesteryear including Ian Rush, Ally McCoist, Roy Keane, Matt Le Tissier, Bryan Robson, and Andy Cole, have all features.
The 2022 return of Masters Football coincides with the newly launched 360 Sports TV Masters Cup.
‘It just feels fantastic to bring Masters Football back to life,’ two-time European Cup winner and former Arsenal and England star Tony Woodcock said.
‘It has real history and there’s been a tremendous buzz over social media recently with petitions to revive the tournament.

The return of the event this year coincides with the launch of the 360 Sports TV Masters Cup

The Glasgow tournament features four teams battling it out over two eight minutes halves with the top two from the group then battling it out in a final.
360 Sports TV is a sports documentary streaming site that has been set up with the help of stars including Brighton’s former Liverpool and England midfielder, Adam Lallana, and ex Ireland and Celtic manager, Martin O’Neill.
