Stars step out for showbiz icon Joan Collins' 88th birthday party

Dame Joan Collins’ celebrated her latest milestone and 20th wedding anniversary at London’s Claridge’s hotel.

The actress was surrounded by industry friends while hosting the event with husband Percy Gibson at the exclusive Mayfair address.

Her dazzling guests included Sarah, Duchess of York, X Factor creator Simon Cowell and his fiancée Lauren Silverman, and actress Elizabeth Hurley and her model son Damian, 19.

Music mogul Simon looked to be recovering well from his recent electric bike accident. The 62-year-old wore a blue cast over his broken arm as he smiled for the cameras.

Meanwhile Lauren looked effortlessly glamorous in a sleek black gown.

Simon has said he was “a bit of a nutter” having narrowly avoided serious injury during the crash, when he was not wearing a helmet.

He added: “I’m OK. I’m feeling much better thank you. It happened just round the corner.”

The duchess arrived at the Mayfair bash alone, two days after her ex-husband Prince Andrew reached his out-of-court agreement withVirginia Giuffre.

Showing no signs of strain over the scandal, Sarah wore a black gown with sheer sleeves and a glittering belt.

Joan’s former Dynasty co-star Stephanie Beacham was also in attendance.

Stephanie’s character Sable Colby in the 1980s TV soap opera was a fierce rival of Joan’s character Alexis.

But the TV star, 74, proved that the drama was purely on screen as she stepped out to celebrate with her friend.

Meanwhile, model Poppy Delevingne, 35, put on a leggy display in a black satin gown with a very high thigh split.

TV presenter Gloria Hunniford, 81, was pretty in pink as she rocked a stunning satin pastel dress coat worn over a matching lace dress.

Other friends joining the celebrations were talent manager Jonathan Shalit and Daily Express columnist Frederick Forsyth, who caught the eye in a purple and gold sequinned jacket. Lord Black and his wife Barbara Amiel were seen exiting, with his spouse catching the eye in a fluffy yellow stole, with novelist Jeffrey Archer and wife Mary also seen dressed to the nines.

Former Bond Girl Susie Vanner also attended, as did entertainer Christopher Biggins, Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon and his wife Yasmin.
