A Place in the Sun’s Danni Menzies opens up on love life and why she ‘avoids dating’

Danni Menzies has been a popular face on A Place in the Sun since 2016, although the Channel 4 presenter recently confirmed she would be leaving the show to pursue more opportunities closer to home. The property expert rarely speaks about her personal life, but in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, Danni admitted she tries to “avoid” dating.

Last year, Danni took part in an MTV dating show called Celebrity Ex in the City.

The property expert joined a number of other famous faces on the show including the likes of Love Island’s Jack Fincham and reality star Demi Sims.

The reality programme saw Danni coming face-to-face with one of her ex-boyfriends, although she admitted to giggling through the entire experience.

Speaking about why she wanted to take part, she began: “I wanted to try something a bit different, and I’ve never done anything like that before.”

She said: “So, I won’t lie about that, it’s been very difficult for me to nail that part of my life. But I am working on it.”

Earlier this month, Danni confirmed she would be leaving A Place in the Sun after six years.

In a statement shared with Express.co.uk, the TV presenter said she was excited to take on a new challenge.

“After six years on the show and about a hundred shows filmed, I’ve decided to hang up my summer dresses,” Danni began.

She concluded: “The show has been such a huge part of my life, and I’d just like to thank and send love to all of the wonderful people I’ve met on this journey who made it so special.

“A huge thank you also to the incredible team at Freeform Productions who I have never appreciated more than the last two years as they kept the show on the road despite the fact that covid made travel a huge obstacle.

“What a team! I will never forget the day I got the call for this opportunity, and I will always be so grateful for it. It’s been an absolute blast!

“SO many lovely people, places and special memories.”

A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 3pm on Channel 4.
