Fans of the beloved movie “Dirty Dancing” are invited to come have the time of their life on its film set and real-life hotel on the 35th anniversary of the 1987 film.
“Step back in time and walk in the footsteps of Johnny and Baby,” advertised Virginia’s Mountain Lake Lodge — better known as Kellerman’s Mountain House in “Dirty Dancing” — in their Kellerman’s Film Package.
The movie, set in the Catskills, was indeed in fact filmed in the south.
The two-night getaway promises to play all the hits for lovers of the classic summer romance flick: There’ll be a “Dirty Dancing”-themed scavenger hunt, special movie screening and a Kellerman’s-branded beach towel and cocktail glass.
The package is offered throughout 2022, and it’s only one of multiple “Dirty Dancing” offerings the lodge has planned for the year.
While the package offers some flexibility, the lodge will be holding an official 35th anniversary event branded the Kellerman’s Paint & Sip Weekend from March 4 to 6. Its offerings are near identical to those of the Film Package.
There’s also the Dirty Dancing Themed Weekend Package, offering “a full itinerary of Dirty Dancing Themed Activities, dance lessons, dance parties in Mary’s Barn and more.” Dates are available throughout 2022, but all have sold out — those looking for this offering will have to wait til 2023, when dates start in April.
The hotel’s new themed packages are far from the only nostalgic “Dirty Dancing” content to happen this year. On Feb. 1, Fox debuted a new dance competition series called “The Real Dirty Dancing” in which eight celebrities complete the movie’s iconic dance numbers. The show was filmed at the Mountain Lake Lodge.
“It’s basically a celebration of ‘Dirty Dancing.’ It’s the 35-year anniversary, and this movie has become such an incredible classic,” show host and TV personality Stephen “tWitch” Boss, 39, told The Post last month. “We get to relive all of the moments, and the way we get to do that is our incredible cast of eight different celebrities from various walks of life revisit where they actually shot ‘Dirty Dancing.’”
