‘Really does work’: Mrs Hinch fans share ‘trick’ to dry washing faster while saving energy

Cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch, whose full name is Sophie Hinchliffe, became famous after she began sharing her cleaning tricks on social media and TV. The cleaning enthusiast now has over 4.3 million followers on Instagram and has authored several books. Now, fans of hers have created their own social media groups dedicated to cleaning and tidying tips.

One of the groups, which has 1.2 million members, receives hundreds of tips each day.

On the group, Facebook user Graham Sims suggested a helpful trick for drying washing.

He said: “With energy prices going up, a little tumble dryer trick.

“Give washing an extra spin at the end of the cycle.

“Saves energy but your clothes are pretty much done.”

Karen Sheppard replied: “I’ve been using the wool tumble dryer balls for a while now and they have definitely halved the drying time.

“Purchased them from Home Bargains but Amazon sell them too.”

Marie Armour wrote: “We also take bigger items out after 30 minutes, give them a good shake and back in, this reduces drying time too.”

Tonia Morris said: “I like the tumble dryer balls, they stop things clumping together so everything dries evenly.”
