'We were in economy!' Rylan Clark lifts lid on budget restraints on The X Factor

Rylan Clark said that despite the hefty amount of money producers were spending on The X Factor, the show’s contestants were still left to fly in economy. The Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two presenter made the revelation on Alan Carr’s Life’s A Beach podcast this week.

During their chat, Rylan opened up about his whirlwind experience on the ninth series of the former ITV talent show in 2012.

James Arthur won the season, with Jahmene Douglas coming in second place.

And while The X Factor was still in its heyday at the time, Rylan has made it no secret that producers were being extra careful with their budget.

In the podcast, Alan brought up the moment Rylan broke down in tears upon learning he had made to the live shows.

Elsewhere, last month, Rylan began campaigning for the return of Big Brother UK following the announcement that Celebrity Big Brother Australia will be broadcast on E4.

The Down Under edition starring Caitlyn Jenner and Thomas Markle Jr will premiere on the network on February 6.

However, in response to the news, Rylan took to his Twitter and tagged Channel 4, pleading for the broadcaster to bring back the beloved British reality television staple.

“Amazing news…… NOW BRING OURS BACK,” he wrote.

Big Brother originally aired on Channel 4 from 2000 until 2010 when it comes to Channel 5 after 11 seasons.

But in 2018, following its 19th run, the show concluded with a final series of Celebrity Big Brother.

Rylan won the show back in 2013 before co-hosting Big Brother’s Bit On The Side until its cancellation five years later.
