Red Bull have Lewis Hamilton retirement belief because of Mercedes' actions

Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko believes Lewis Hamilton has already made a decision regarding his retirement from Formula 1 due to the pre-season actions of Mercedes.

Hamilton was rumoured to be quitting the sport following the heartbreak he suffered in Abu Dhabi last month, as he was controversially pipped to the world championship by title rival Max Verstappen.

Following the result at last campaign’s season finale, Mercedes boss Toto Wolff revealed that Hamilton had become ‘disillusioned’ with the sport.

This, along with the seven-time world champion’s recent radio silence led many to believe that the 37-year-old was ready to call time on his racing career.

Hamilton was left devastated after he had a once comfortable lead snatched away from him in the very final moments of the season, as Verstappen took advantage of a contentious call from FIA director Michael Masi to become world champion.
