Everton boss Frank Lampard's Eden Hazard comment about Dele Alli as Toffees confirm deal

“He is in the six-yard box scoring. Too many attacking midfield players get to the penalty spot and stop, [they] don’t go that extra mile.

“We talk about Hazard being the best player in the league, I don’t think Dele Alli is that far away from him.”

Lampard’s glowing review should make his alleged request to sign Alli unsurprising, and the Toffees board wasted no time in pulling the trigger.

Having batted away a late hijack attempt by Newcastle, Everton announced Alli’s arrival 80 minutes past the 11pm deadline for an initial free transfer, which will eventually see Spurs paid £10million once he makes 20 appearances.
