Bachelor vets Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon welcome their first child

Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon have welcomed their first child together after three years of marriage.

New father Haibon, 33, took to social media on Monday to share they are the proud parents of son named Dawson.

‘Baby Dawson is here and healthy!’ he shared for his Instagram fans. ‘Ashley is recovering and doing well! It really couldn’t have gone much smoother. He’s so sweet and beautiful and has been sleeping all day. Unlike his Mom and Dad who are on no sleep right now but it’s totally worth it!’

In August the lovebirds revealed they were expecting a boy. 

‘We are so excited,’ they said after the pair revealed they were expecting their first child with a due date of February 10.

The couple said they would wait to reveal their son’s name until he was born, as Iaconetti, 33, said, ‘We had a name picked out for a long time for a boy’ as they ‘always thought it was going to be a boy.’

Haibon opened up about some of his parental ambitions.

‘Instead of saying “my kid,” he’s “my son,”‘ he said. ‘I hope that he likes some of the things I loved growing up, like Star Wars and comic books and sports.

‘I’ve always dreamed of coaching my son’s little league team, so I hope he likes playing baseball. I guess we’ll find out.

‘I also really hope he becomes the next kicker for the New England Patriots.’

The couple said that they had gotten the news of the child’s gender while in Haibon’s native Rhode Island earlier this month.

Haibon opened up about details of the pregnancy in an Instagram post in July.

‘Even though it’s been a rough first trimester so far, she is as beautiful today as she was in this picture,’ he said. ‘Last night, she threw up five times throughout the night. It’s been a very sick month for her. I feel terrible because there’s not much I can do except the occasional runs to the store for chocolate cake or to 7/11 for Slurpees.

‘I love her very much, she’s a strong woman and I know Ashley is going to be an incredible mother.’

Speaking with Us Weekly, Iaconetti said she had been experiencing sickness in her first trimester.

She said that she’s received helpful guidance from her friend and Bachelor Nation colleague Jade Roper, 34, who is mom to three young children.

‘She made me feel so much better because she said … “Honestly, the first trimester is about surviving,”‘ Iaconetti said. ‘I say that to myself every day. I always think of her as, like, the strongest woman. 

‘Total mother nature, like, everything is a breeze. I’m like, if Jade felt like it was just about surviving, then I guess I’m on the same trajectory.’

Ashley and Jared became engaged in 2018 after many years of friendship and wed in 2019.
