Avril Lavigne tattooed her favourite foul-mouthed word on her body

Avril has been in the music industry since she was just 18-years-old, and has obviously spent a lot of time on the road touring her music around the world. During her formative years, the star has covered herself in eye-catching tattoos, but she recently opened up about a few of them that contain an unexpected favourite word.

Avril recently revealed that she got her first tattoo around the release of her second album, Under My Skin, in 2004. But she wouldn’t get it until she received permission from someone important to her: her older brother.

Since then, she has stopped asking permission and has bought several small tattoos across her body, including almost a full sleep on her left arm. One trilogy of tattoos features her favourite swear word: “f**k”.

Avril laughed in a new interview: “I always wanted the half-sleeve, but I was trying to be responsible. It’s funny, I say that while I have ‘f***’ tattooed on me three times.”

The star revealed she has “f**k you” on her middle finger – just to add insult to injury, probably. She also has “motherf*****g princess” on another finger. This is a direct lyric from her 2007 single Girlfriend, which was from her 2007 album The Best Damn Thing.

The Canadian singer also has the word in huge letters across her.

Avril has the words La Vie En Rose on her forearm, next to a collection of roses that were painstakingly designed.

The Sk8r Boi singer also has a safety pin tattooed on her neck. She once commented on this ink, saying: “It comes in handy all the time, it can hurt you, but at the same time keep you together, safety first!” At this point in her career, Avril is more than justified to get anything she wants inked on her skin.

Her debut record, Let Go, was released in 2002 and received a diamond certification, as well as hitting multi-platinum status in other countries around the world. According to Billboard, it was the best-selling album of the decade. She was also the youngest female solo artist to have a number-one album in the UK.

Avril Lavigne – Love Sux is out February 25, 2022.
