Trump, 75, lost the 2020 presidential election to Joe Biden but refused to concede.
He falsely claimed that there was widespread electoral fraud and attempted to overturn the results, pressuring government officials, mounting scores of unsuccessful legal challenges, and obstructing the presidential transition.
On January 6, 2021, Trump is accused of urging his supporters to march to the Capitol, which hundreds then attacked, resulting in multiple deaths and interrupting the electoral vote count.
His comment immediately took the internet by storm with social media users having a mixed response to the statement.
Trump supporters were among the few to jump out of excitement after hearing the audio.
A Twitter user backofbiden wrote: “Oh wow. Trump basically confirmed he’s running in 2024.”
Another one, John pistotnik, wrote: “That’s my president with a beautiful swing.”
While Twitter user reagenite commented: “For the millionth time, President Trump is running again in 2024.
