Zhongli is returning to Genshin Impact this week as part of the next 2.4 Banner, launching across PS4, PS5, PC and Mobile platforms.
The popular action RPG continues to add new content and develop the different character combos available, with this week’s big update focused on five-star teams.
And while there will be no new characters making their debut, gamers will have a fresh chance of adding Zhongli and Ganyu to their lineup.
Five-star characters are always sought after and will be parted by the following four-star options:
Yanfei, Xingqiu, and Beidou.
As mentioned above, The Genshin Impact Zhongli rerun will be one of the main focuses of this week’s update, and while the character has undergone changes since he first arrived in 2020, here is his first character description from Mihoyo:
“Calm and composed as a solid stone, this character seems to be full of wisdom, and secrets… His command of earth and rock allow him to brandish stone polearms while summoning massive Geo constructs that plunge into the earth, dealing Geo damage.
“However, Zhongli reveals his true potential in his Elemental Burst, which brings a falling star down to earth, dealing massive Geo damage to opponents and petrifying them. Faced with Zhongli’s masterful command of the Geo element, opponents will truly find themselves between a rock and a hard place.”
And according to the detailed dossier about Ganyu, the returning character specialises in Cryo abilities, and uses a bow as her main weapon, performing upwards of six consecutive shots as part of her normal attack.
Ganyu can use her special Charge Level 2 Aimed Shot and Elemental Burst to deal Cryo area of effect damage to enemies.
Known as Trail of the Qilin, Ganyu’s Talent is an interesting one. The new character drops a single Ice Lotus flower on the ground, which attracts enemies and deals area of effect Cryo damage when attacked.
It’s a useful talent for dealing with large groups of enemies, or for when you need a few seconds to catch your breath and heal.
Ganyu also has the Celestial Shower Talent, which summons a Sacred Cryo Pearl that rains down shards of ice that damage opponents.
WHEN DOES THE GENSHIN IMPACT BANNER START?
Developers Mihoyo has confirmed that the Genshin Impact Zhongli Banner rerun date has been set for Tuesday, January 25, 2022.
PS4, PC and Mobile gamers should get access to the event at the same time, alongside the next-gen PlayStation 5 console.
Ganyu will also arrive this week as part of the new Genshin update and will be available to pull at the same boosted rates.
Both characters are part of the same Banner event, meaning increased pull chances over the coming weeks.
The Genshin Impact Zhongli Banner release time has been scheduled for 5pm GMT in the UK and 6pm PDT in North America, on January 25.
