GB News: Biden lambasted over press conference fiasco – ‘Non compos mentis’

The show that aired on Wednesday night saw Mr Wootton discussing Biden’s situation at length with an American journalist Megyn Kelly. The White House on Wednesday clarified President Biden’s position on Ukraine after an earlier press conference caused some confusion.

Biden told reporters at a marathon press conference that Russia would be held accountable if it were to invade Ukraine, but there seemed to be a caveat when he went further and said it depends on the actions Moscow takes.

Mr Biden said: “It’s one thing if it’s a minor incursion and we end up having to fight about what to do and not to do.”

While talking about the US President, Mr Wootton compared him to former US President Donald Trump and how Mr Biden has conducted fewer press conferences than any of the American presidents in their first year.

Agreeing to his statements, Ms Kelly said: “I think they are going to bite the bullet and they would rather take the head at this point of ‘where is he? Why haven’t you made him available? Is he in the basement? Is he hooked up to someone?’ We need proof of life.”

“People are talking about whether he can make it to the rest of his term, is he non compos mentis?

“There were many moments in last night’s press conference where he was meandering, and struggling for words.”

Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, later posted the White House’s statement shortly after the press conference that warned the Kremlin against any incursion.

“If any Russian military forces move across the Ukrainian border, that’s a renewed invasion, and it will be met with a swift, severe, and united response from the United States and our Allies,” the statement read.

“Her approval ratings are 28 percent. So Democrats, republicans, independents, they don’t want her and there is not some strong bear on the side.

“Other than Michelle Obama, who wants no part of politics, there is no one who can do it.”
