According to the NHS website, the appendix is a thin pouch attached to the large intestine, commonly sitting in the lower right part of the belly.

It’s said that removing the appendix in an emergency surgery can be safer than the risk of it bursting, which can sometimes lead to other health complications. 

It was just earlier this week when Matt gushed about his excitement over finally returning to work after a lengthy Christmas holiday. 

In a snap taken from the set of Saturday Kitchen, the Buckinghamshire native had captioned the post, writing: “What a cracking start back to live shows…”
