'Bit windy!' A Place in the Sun's Danni Menzies suffers mishap as she poses in mini-dress

While Brits shivered in bitterly cold January temperatures that barely scraped above freezing, TV presenter Danni Menzies was sunning herself in balmy Fuertaventura, where daytime temperatures had risen to around 21 Celsius. The Canary Island, just 100km off the North coast of Africa, is well known for its mild winter temperatures, but also constant and sometimes extreme wind conditions, as Danni was about to find out.

Posting a photo of herself rocking a red shirt style dress onto a slide from her Instagram stories, she captioned the photo: “A wee bit windy”.

That might have been an understatement as her hair was billowing around so much that it obscured a large part of her face.

The 33-year-old Scot showed off her toned legs in the snapshot, accessorised by white boots.

She has been keeping her pins in good shape, due to finding the time for constant work-outs even when busily filming on the Spanish island for A Place In The Sun.

Danni snatched some time to film a clip of herself lifting kettlebells the previous day, suggesting she was on a video call with her personal trainer Louise Barton back in the UK.

By the looks of it, she was providing some much needed motivation to guide her moves.

Danni captioned her work-out shots: “A little bit of last night with my girl @loucbarton keeping me sweaty from afar.”

Louise wrote back encouragingly: “Yes, my girl, keep it up!”

She told her 91,000 followers that it was her first time there, in spite of having visited many other locations in a bid to assist Brits craving an exotic property purchase.

Late last year, perhaps fearing another lockdown and more disruption to her international TV career, Danni also announced a new Instagram TV series where she would explore the pleasures of locations closer to home – and specifically, the area of Scotland where she hails from.

The mini IGTV series was titled Scotland On My Door Step and saw the star swimming in lakes not far from her village, Kenmore.

It was a way for the TV and radio presenter to showcase “the beauty and fun that I’m lucky enough to have on my door step here in Scotland!”
