Murray, just a week older, went to the same training camp as Djokovic as a teenager, and the pair eventually squared off in seven different major finals.
Four were at the Australian Open in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2016, but Djokovic reigned supreme in all of them.
Whilst the current top-ranked tennis star also triumphed at the 2016 French Open, Murray bettered him to claim a memorable 2013 Wimbledon Championship and record US Open success in 2012.
The Scotsman also came out on top to win gold at the London 2012 Olympic Games in between ATP World Tour Match of the Year winners at Rome and Shanghai in 2011 and 2012, respectively.
