The Hip dip bum filler replacing Brazilian Bum Lift and works out your 'perfect hip to waist ratio'

Former Apprentice winner Dr Leah Totton has revealed her new treatment which claims to be a safe non-invasive alternative to the controversial Brazilian Bum Lift, and is taking over the cosmetics industry.

Speaking ahead of the launch of series 16 tonight, Irish-born Leah, 33, who won Apprentice Lord Sugar’s £250K investment in 2013 and has since opened three clinics turning over millions, shared the cosmetic industry’s new answer to BBL.

The ‘Hip Dip Fix’ has gained traction as the answer to the previously controversial surgical bottom and hip enhancement procedure BBL – which has been deemed unsafe by The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.

Promising to improve cellulite and overall skin quality, as well as restore skin elasticity and give you ‘perfect proportions’, ‘Lanluma’ works by injecting a collagen stimulating filler into the affected area for a rounded effect.

While BBL works by taking natural fat from the waist and other unwanted areas and injecting it into the hips and bottom at a cost of £10,000, the non-surgical treatment works without liposuction and costs £3,800 for four vials – lasting between two to three years.

Sophie, a 30-year-old PA, from London, was unhappy with her bum and wasn’t seeing any difference by going to the gym.

Keen to get a more curvy shape, seen on celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian, she decided to have two vials of the Lanluma treatment injected into her hip area – costing £1,900.

She told FEMAIL: ‘I was not happy about the lack of perkiness in my bum as well as the overall shape. This affected my confidence massively, there is quite a focus in the media around having a perky perfect bum, I just wanted to feel confident with my own beach body.

‘I tried to exercise but it didn’t seem to make much difference so I decided to do some research into potential treatments. I knew I would never do something as invasive and risky as a BBL so the idea of the Lanluma bum lift really intrigued me, it seemed so easy and less scary.

‘I heard about the Lanluma bum lift on Instagram which led me to research the treatment further. It looked very low risk, with natural and subtle results, producing beautiful after results.’

Sophie was treated by Dr Deepa and Dr Sidra in Dr Leah’s Baker Street clinic with two vials of Lanluma and was thrilled with the results.

She said: ‘The treatment itself was much easier than expected, it was nowhere near as painful as I thought. With help from the amazing doctors, it was actually quite relaxing. Overall it was a great lunchtime fix. I was completely surprised by how comfortable the whole procedure was.’

Anxious that her shape wouldn’t look too different from before, Sophie opted for a smaller amount of filler.

‘It was the correct amount for my concerns, my confidence is completely boosted I feel incredible’, she said.

‘I have had some comments from my friends about how perky my bum looks, so I definitely recommend this treatment. The only thing you have to remember is to keep massaging it’.

Speaking to FEMAIL, Dr Leah said: ‘Demand for a more plump, shapely bottom or correcting a flat or sagging bottom aresome of our most common body treatment requests at Dr Leah Clinic. There is a huge demand for bum enhancement with bum lift procedures increasing in popularity by 252 per cent since 2000.

‘With the latest trends in curvy body shapes, cosmetic procedures like BBL surgery have increased in popularity. Everyone wants the perfect hourglass proportions.

‘There are however a considerable number of cases where BBL surgery has gone wrong and it has been labelled one of the most dangerous plastic surgery procedures due to the number deaths.

‘Surgeons in the UK have now been advised not to perform BBL, so we decided to offer a safe and effective alternative, an injectable bum enhancement in the form of Lanluma injections.

‘It has proved an extremely popular treatment, it is a safer alternative to surgery and has minimal downtime and natural looking results which last around two years’.

What is the Lanluma non-surgical bum lift?

What is the Lanluma bum lift?

It is a collagen stimulating injectable treatment made from Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) which has been used safely in aesthetic medicine for decades. It gives your buttocks a more rounded appearance by stimulating your natural collagen production.

Lanluma works within the deep dermis and activates the natural collagen in two ways mainly.

  • Increases fullness and replaces lost volume or adds volume
  • Improves skin quality/cellulite/dimpling on buttocks
  • A great treatment for those who want to rid of hip dips.

When used for a non-surgical bum lift, it creates a more even appearance by removing the sagginess and plumping up the deficient areas of the buttocks with the new collagen.

It sets off a deep tissue regeneration reaction that stimulates your own natural collagen. This steady growth in natural collagen allows for a more comfortable treatment progression and less likelihood of stretch marks which is common with BBL surgery.

What happens during the treatment?

Following consulation, the Lanluma bum lift treatment normally takes one hour.

You are awake throughout the procedure and the actual process should take no more than 30 minutes and is not particularly painful.

The area to be enhanced should be marked and sterilised. You will then have a local anaesthetic injected which will make the lanluma bum lift virtually painless. Your doctor will then carefully inject Lanluma where you would like to see results – massage will be performed immediately after treatment and you will need to do this yourself at home.

How long does recovery take?

You should feel fine right after the procedure, though there may be a small amount of swelling for a couple of hours and the area is likely to feel tender for the days following the treatment.

Depending on the area treated, and how your body reacts, achieving the look you are aiming for will take 2-3 sessions, and results will show 2-6 months afterwards as your natural collagen develops.

What areas can be treated?

Lanluma can cover all procedures from facial rejuvenation to bum lifts. Its novel and natural formulation can be used in any part of the body to give it a fuller and natural look. The following are the main areas where Lanluma can be used

The 'Hip Dip Fix', championed by Apprentice winner Dr Leah Totton, 33, has gained traction as the answer to the previously controversial surgical bottom and hip enhancement procedure BBL

  •  Treat hip dips
  •  Reduction of Cellulite and skin dimpling
  •  Improve skin quality on neck and decolletage
  • Improve crepe skin on bingo wings
  • Treat ageing hands
  • Rejuvenation of hollow cheek/temples

How much does it cost?

It costs £3,800 for four vials and £6,080 for eight vials.

Which treatments can it be combined with?

It is also possible to combine the bum lift treatment with fat freezing treatment to enhance the hourglass shape by specifically targeting the waist and love handles (area above the bottom) and fat beneath the bottom to enhance the curves of the waist to hip ratio, resulting in a shapely silhouette.

 Why is this replacing  BBL?

There are many instances where BBL surgery has gone wrong and this is why the procedure is no- longer widely conducted in the UK.

This surgical procedure involves body liposuction and fat injected deep into the muscles.

The concern is that if the injected fat enters a major blood vessel in the buttocks then it can lead to lethal complications such as a heart attack.

BBL Surgery is no longer approved by The British Association of Plastic surgeons due to worrying complications, and a death rate of around 1 in 2500 due to fat embolism. This has led to a rise in demand for the safer alternative which is Our Lanluma non surgical bum lift treatment.

What is the difference between Lanluma and dermal filler?

Dermal filler has become a popular option to fill the depressed areas of the buttocks – but Lanluma also instead works deep within the skin to stimulate your own natural collagen production, meaning it gives a more natural look and feel than dermal filler. ,

Results lasts for two to three years which is a longer period of time in comparison to most body dermal fillers.
