Euphoria season two has been a long time coming for fans after development was delayed numerous times due to the pandemic. Finally, it will be dropping on HBO Max on January 9 in the USA, and Sky Atlantic and NOW on January 10 in the UK. The second season will continue to explore hard-hitting topics such as drugs and violence for a group of teenage girls.
Who is in the cast of Euphoria season 2, episode 1?
Rue Bennett – Zendaya
Zendaya is returning to lead the show as Rue Bennett, hot off her success in the box office hit Spiderman: No Way Home.
Speaking to Teen Vogue in July 2021, Zendaya revealed season two’s story would be “devastating”.
Zendaya added: “It’s gonna be hard and it’s gonna be devastating sometimes, but I think Rue really deserves all of that care when it comes to her character because I think she represents a lot for so many people.”
Zendaya is also known for starring in Dune, Malcolm & Marie, and The OA as Fola.
Jules Vaughn – Hunter Schafer
Hunter Schafer is back to co-lead the series as Jules Vaughn.
Jules was new in town at the start of season one, with Rue quickly falling for her, complicating their lives even further.
Euphoria is Schafer’s first on-screen performance, with the star only having one other credit to her name for the upcoming film Cuckoo.

Lexi Howard – Maude Apatow
Maude Apatow is back as Lexi Howard, Rue’s childhood friend who has been supporting her for years.
In season one, Lexi was the level-headed guidance Rue needed, and it looks as though she will be there for Rue again in season two.
Apatow is also known for roles in Hollywood and Girls.
Fezco – Angus Cloud
Angus Cloud will be taking on the role of Fezco again, but it isn’t clear how the character will fit into the second season.
Back in season one, he was another main support for Rue, though dropping out of college and dealing drugs meant he brought with him a lot of his own baggage.
Cloud is also known for North Hollywood, but season one of Euphoria was his first on-screen performance.
Ali – Colman Domingo
Colman Domingo is returning for the second season as Ali, with the star also being known for Fear the Walking Dead and Blackout.
Speaking to ET Online Domingo said: “I would say from the work that I’ve done on the show, it was already a show that was getting under the skin.
“I think it’s like a real sore wound now. I think it’s sore and it has pus and it’s a little ugly and it’s messy.
“But underneath all of that, it’s this painful, beating heart. And it just wants a hug. That’s what I think [season two] is.”
Nate Jacobs – Jacob Elordi
Nate Jacobs will be back in season two, the son of Cal, his overbearing father.
As Maddy’s emotional boyfriend, he struggles to deal with home life and often offloads it onto her.
Played by Jacob Elordi, the star is also known for his role as Noah Flynn in The Kissing Booth 2 and 3.
Kat Hernandez – Barbie Ferreira
Kat Hernandez went through one of the biggest changes in season one, starting out the season looking for a change.
As a body-conscious teen, she often has a hard time loving herself for who she is, but she’s more willing to accept herself at the end of season one.
Played by Barbie Ferreira, the star is also known for Divorce and Unpregnant, and she is also set to appear in Nope, the new film by Get Out director Jordan Peele.
Leslie Bennett – Nika King
Rounding out the main returning cast is Nika King in the role of Leslie Bennett.
She is the single mother of Rue and does everything she can to protect her.
King is also known for Funny Married Stuff and Greenleaf.
Euphoria season two will premiere on January 9 on HBO Max in the USA. In the UK it will release on January 10 on Sky Atlantic and NOW.
