TikTok star dies suddenly at 36 days after she posted video claiming 'voices in her head are silent'

A popular TikTok star has ‘unexpectedly’ died at the age of 36, just a few days after she posted an eerie video claiming the ‘voices in her head had gone silent.’

Many people on the internet were left heartbroken after it was announced that Candice Murley Marystown, known as Candi online, had tragically passed away on Sunday.

Her sister, Marsha McEvoy, shared the shocking news while setting up a GoFundMe page in an attempt to raise money to cover the star’s funeral costs, explaining in a statement on the website that Candice’s death came as a ‘massive shock’ to her family, adding that they were not ‘financially prepared’ to deal with the funeral.

The mother-of-one’s cause of death is still unknown, however, according to Candice’s sister, her passing was ‘unexpected’ and it has left her friends and family members ‘torn apart.’

‘We have received some news no one wants to hear,’ Marsha wrote on the GoFundMe page. ‘Tonight we lost a huge part of our family, my sister Candice.

‘This was very unexpected, and our hearts are torn apart. Candice was so full of life and always lived life her own way.’

Marsha encouraged her fans to look back at her old videos while dealing with the tragic loss.

‘She had a fanbase like no other,’ she continued. ‘Let’s now look back at all her videos and keep them as our keepsakes to keep us smiling while we deal with this loss. She will be missed terribly by many.’

She is survived by her husband, Dave, and her son, Maxwell, who Marsha said she ‘loved dearly.’

According to her sister, Candice loved singing and dancing and was always ‘full of energy.’

Marsha added: ‘We just know she is dancing in the sky now. We all know how much she believed in Heaven, she is certainly there.

‘We hope she is happy and free at last away from all her struggles and be her happy and carefree self forever in eternity.

‘Perhaps the stars are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.’

‘Candice’s passing came as a massive shock to our family and we are not financially prepared for it,’ she concluded.

‘We ask that you please donate what you can to help give Candice the funeral she deserves and to assist our family in coping with this tragic loss. We thank everyone in advance.’

She has since raised more than $16,000, and said they will give any extra funds that aren’t used for the funeral to her son.

In the hours before her passing, Candice shared a bunch of TikTok videos to her accounts — she has two on the app — including a few of her cat, Stash, and one that showed her cooking dinner.

At the time of her death, her first account, with the username @candimurley, had 16,000 followers, and her second account, with the username @candicemurley, had 26,000.

According to some commenters on her videos, Candice was allegedly seen drinking excessive amounts of alcohol during a livestream she hosted before her death.

Others pointed out that she had gotten a lot of hate from nasty internet trolls recently — however, it’s unclear if either of these related to her passing.

‘I pray the ones that knocked her down daily now re-think the way they acted towards a beautiful soul that was fighting and trying every day to save herself,’ one person wrote.

‘Instead of hate and bullying, show love and positivity and try reaching out. RIP beautiful, the tears are flowing today.’

Another added: ‘I cannot believe this is true. My heart is breaking right now. I asked people to back off with the bullying.’ That commenter added that she knew ‘this wouldn’t end well.’

‘A lot of people here are really focusing on the online bullying and negative comments Candice received,’ someone else said.

‘Yes that was a major issue for sure, but please don’t bypass the fact that this is a clear indication of what mental illness, addiction, and substance abuse issues can do to a person.

‘Anyone watching her lately and saying, “She’s just having fun,” or, “She looked so happy,” and, “So what if she does drugs or drinks,” need to really think about what happened here and realize that it is not just the negative comments that can do harm, it’s when people turn a blind eye.’
