Rod Stewart's wife Penny Lancaster flaunts ageless appearance after 'losing sex appeal'

The 50-year-old Loose Women presenter, who is married to rocker Rod Stewart, suggested via the comment that her self-esteem has soared, despite previously fearing she could lose her looks. Just a couple of months earlier, the sassy star had confessed she feared the onset of the menopause might cause her sex appeal to plummet.

Even worse, husband Rod had confessed openly that, after her hormonal changes started to set in, she was “no longer the woman I married”.

The model had a reason to open up about her struggles after she joined the Hello! magazine campaign for the Menopause Work Pledge, which was created to raise awareness among employers of the changes their female staff could experience.

She admitted to her own dark days as part of that campaign, revealing candidly: “The menopause freaked me out at first.

“I thought, ‘This is the end of the road. I’m not going to have any more sex appeal.’

“I’m not going to be as lenient or forgiving.

“I’ve got to say goodbye to the old Penny and say hello to the new one.”

However, she made peace with her demons, in the end, rationalising: “As you get older you embrace each stage of your life with more maturity, and give yourself a bit of a break.”

On an episode of Loose Women prior to that, Penny burst into tears as she recounted the journey she had taken.

“Where I’ve always been very patient, I feel like I’m losing grip.

“When I spoke to my GP, the first thing they said is, “Well, let’s put you on an antidepressant.'”

“And I was like, ‘I need something to balance and take the edge off the upset, frustration and anger.’ It did help a bit, but it was another band-aid and wasn’t addressing the real problem.”

“Fortunately through Loose Women, I got advice to see a specialist and over the last six weeks, I’ve been on the treatment, I’ve come off the antidepressants and I’m feeling a balance.

“I’ve stopped the hot sweats [although] I’m still suffering from anxiety.”

Penny also described being able to speak to Rod about her difficulties was “an absolute number one priority.”

“He saw me turning into a different woman,” she explained. “[He would ask] ‘Why are you behaving like that?’ Why are you arguing about something you would normally just brush off?'”

However, critics believe it seemed as though Rod was the one suffering from aggression after he and his son recently pleaded guilty to an assault following an altercation with a security guard.

Meanwhile, Penny now seems to be embracing her maturity process as she reminds her Instagram followers that, in her experience, age 50 still looks like a glamorous time.
