Transfer News LIVE: Man Utd's Haaland blow, Arsenal eye Coutinho, Newcastle plot £17m deal

Manchester United could reportedly struggle to pip Barcelona to the signing of Borussia Dortmund marksman Erling Haaland ahead of next season.

The Catalan giants have been credited with a strong desire to bring the 21-year-old to the Nou Camp, with club president Joan Laporta said to be a keen admirer.

He is determined to prevent a front three of Haaland, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior from linking up at Real Madrid, according to Marca.

It is claimed that Laporta is prepared to fight tooth and nail to stop this from happening by ensuring that Haaland joins Barcelona.

The Norwegian striker is thought to have a release clause in the region of £68million written into his contract, which is set to come into effect at the end of the current campaign.
