NYPD posts video of tense Barclays Center traffic stop shooting from October

Police have released body camera footage of a tense October shooting outside Barclays Center showing cops fire twice at an unlicensed 21-year-old driver fleeing a chaotic traffic stop.

Officer Williams Mattocks of the 78th Precinct fired the two rounds on Oct. 7 after responding to reports of a BMW driver with a gun outside the Chick-Fil-A on Flatbush Ave., across the street from the arena, according to the footage, released Christmas Eve by police.

Mattocks arrived to find Nasir Fisher, 21, behind the wheel of a 2017 BMW 540. Bodycam video shows Fisher refuse to roll down his window, and then slowly maneuver around police cars and bumper-to-bumper traffic to make a U-turn and turn right onto Atlantic Ave.

“What are you doing?! Stop moving the car!” Mattocks is heard saying in the clip, before hopping in his vehicle to follow the driver.

Fisher wound up stuck in traffic on the arena’s north side, at Atlantic Ave. and South Portland St., where one cop attempted to break the window of the BMW by striking it with his firearm, the NYPD said.

Fisher then rammed into the Toyota Rav 4 in front of him and jumped the curb. He squeezed off a few rounds and Maddocks, who arrived at the location via another route, returned fired as the perp bolted east.

The driver, who was not struck, was eventually arrested two days later, police said. His BMW had fraudulent New Jersey temporary plates, according to charging documents filed in Brooklyn Criminal Court.

The runaway driver is charged with criminal weapons possession, reckless endangerment, operating an unregistered vehicle and operating a vehicle without a valid driver license, according to prosecutors.
