Man Utd join Chelsea and Liverpool in transfer race for 'the next Kai Havertz'

The Red Devils believe that they have a have an upper hand too, as the report goes on to suggest that the appointment of Ralf Rangnick as their new manager will strengthen their position in the race for Wirtz.

As Rangnick is such a respected figure in the world of German coaching, United are optimistic that his arrival will improve their chances of landing the midfielder, who also has interest from elsewhere.

Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Liverpool are all expected to be in the hunt, but any side will have to pay at least £70m if they are to sign him next summer.

That fee is extremely similar to the price that the club set for Havertz in 2020, making it rather unlikely that Chelsea will return for Wirtz who has been so closely compared to their star.
