Woeful Alec Baldwin thanks fans during ‘difficult situation’ in sad Christmas message

A disheveled Alec Baldwin delivered a not-so-merry Christmas message to his fans – thanking them for their support after his deadly on-set shooting and saying he feels “very awkward going through this.”

The 63-year-old embattled actor is unshaven with tousled hair as he looks directly into the camera to deliver his rambling woe-is-me address on Instagram.

“Merry Christmas …,” Baldwin captioned his post.

“I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all the people who sent me such kind words and best wishes and strength and hope and prayers, thoughts and lots of encouragement and lots of really, really great sentiments from so many people,” the “30 Rock” star says.

“I got hundreds, hundreds of emails from friends, family and colleagues and people I haven’t heard from in quite a while to send me strength and good wishes and so forth. I’m really grateful to them,” he says.

“Many people commenting on Instagram seem very, very supportive about this difficult situation,” Baldwin continues. “I’m looking forward to some aspects of this being behind me, of course.

“For everyone who is involved in this, it’ll never be behind us because someone died so tragically. I never lose sight of that. Not a day goes by I don’t think about that,” he says, without mentioning Halyna Hutchins by name, the cinematographer who was fatally shot in the tragedy.

“I’m home with my family, the only thing I care about,” Baldwin adds. “It’s true, the only thing I care about is my wife and my kids and just want forward with my life try to get through a tough time, a really tough time.

The actor then wishes his supporters a happy holiday.

”I feel very awkward going through this. It has been very difficult. I wanna say happy holidays, happy Hanukkah and Christmas and a happy Kwanzaa. Whatever holiday you’re celebrating,” Baldwin says.

The Hollywood star then delivers some advice amid the pandemic as he signs off.

“Be safe, wear a mask, get the booster,” Baldwin says in the clip.

“Don’t let Santa Claus down the chimney without a mask,” he also quips.

Baldwin’s holiday message comes a week after authorities in Santa Fe, New Mexico, issued a search warrant for his cellphone to probe the death of Hutchins, 42, who was fatally shot on the set of the Western flick “Rust.”

On Dec. 17, Baldwin also looked exhausted as he left his downtown home alone while apparently carrying the cellphone. Investigators were forced to issue the warrant because the star — who was also a producer for the movie — refused to hand over the device without one, the sheriff’s department has said.

Baldwin has insisted that he is not to blame for Hutchins’ death because there never should have been live rounds on the film set.

A source told People magazine that Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria, will be “spending a quiet holiday with the children in the Hamptons” this year.

The couple share six kids: Carmen Gabriela, 8,  Rafael Thomas, 6, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 5, Romeo Alejandro David, 3, Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas, 13 months, and María Lucía Victoria, 8 months.
