Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen opens up on youngest Nancy going to school

The mother of nine who lives on Ravenseat Farm with husband Clive spent most of her time with their youngest offspring, Nancy, four, who was set to begin school in the latest season of Our Yorkshire Farm. The much-loved farming couple also share Clemmy who is aged five, Annas, eight, Sydney, 10, Violet, 11. Edith, 13, Miles 14, Reuben 18 and finally, Raven, who is 20. In the latest installment of the Channel 5 docu-series, a wholesome conversation between mother and daughter Nancy developed whilst in search of frogs.

During a recent episode, Amanda held a frog from the lake for her daughter to see.

The Yorkshire born farmer asked Nancy: “You know what you’re supposed to do to a frog, don’t you?”

To which Amanda pulled a kissing pout expression to prompt her youngest.

A doe-eyed Nancy, in awe of her new croaky friend, exclaimed: “Kiss it!”

“Ahh, that was so cute!” Amanda said.

In jest, the writer amusingly pointed out: “Well, nothing has happened.”

Earlier this year, their eldest son Reuben had to take a step back from his duties on the farm as he started on the path of his new career.

The 18-year-old still lives at home on the farm but is a mechanical engineering apprentice at a heavy plant company where he works five days a week – and Amanda reflected on her clan leaving their home following the sweet interaction with Nancy.

Speaking about her youngest daughter, Amanda told Channel 5 viewers: “Nancy has definitely found her own little voice.”

She said: “But it will be nice for her to go to school and you know, learn about the big wide world.

“So, she has another six months [left],” the TV writer revealed.

Before she added: “And the six months have been on her own as the only child left at home.”

The 47-year-old mother confessed: “That will do her good, you know, she’s learning.

“She has found her own independent character.” Amanda concluded to viewers at home.

Nancy, impressed by the animals found in the lake, revealed: “We found two froglets and we found some tadpoles.”

Before she added: “That’s why we’re looking for tadpoles and froglets.”
