Kite-flyer reportedly taken on wild ride after rogue gust of wind

Terrifying video captures the moment a man at a kite flying competition is suddenly whisked 40 feet into the air by a huge gust of wind — while his horrified friends look on.

Nadarasa Manoharan and his pals were flying their kites in Sri Lanka Monday when the blast of air got ahold of the homemade four-foot kite, The Independent reported this week.

The footage shows six men, including Manoharan, trying to keep the massive kite grounded when the wind picks up.

The others let go but Manoharan hangs on and is suddenly pulled into the sky — while his friends look on helplessly and scream for help as he hangs on for dear life.

Fortunately, the wind lets up enough for Manoharan to take a chance ant he lets go, thumping back down to earth, bruised but very much alive.

The unfortunate high-flyer was rushed to Point Pedro Hospital in Jaffna, where he was treated for minor injuries, the outlet reported.
