Amazon issues delivery warning for anyone hoping to get order in before Christmas 2021

For anyone that has left their Christmas shopping to the very last-minute, Amazon is a godsend – with next-day delivery available with Prime and it’s even possible for orders placed on Christmas Eve to arrive the very same day. But if you’re thinking of placing an order within the next few days, then Amazon has a warning for you. The retailer has told customers that the busy festive period could lead to certain deliveries taking longer than usual.

Amazon UK explained: “During this busy period, some deliveries may take slightly longer than usual. As always, please see your up-to-date delivery date at checkout, which provides our most accurate estimate of the delivery date.

“You can track the progress of your order at any time by visiting Your Orders in Your Account.”

Technically speaking, using Amazon’s delivery guidelines Prime orders that have to arrive in time for Christmas can be placed on December 23, while if you’re ordering in an area that supports Same Day delivery and are looking to buy an eligible product then you would be able to place an order on Christmas Eve morning and get it by 10pm that day.

But Express.co.uk has seen ourselves while browsing through Amazon a few products items which are eligible for Prime delivery and should be delivered the next day are instead listed as having a guaranteed delivery two days later.

This is by no means the norm of course, and we only saw this on a handful of products where this was the case.
